BFSC Wear something strapless - Final entry

So the Big Fat Summer Challenge is coming to its end by the end of today. WOW I can't believe it's the 31st of July already and it's been about 2 months since I started the Challenge. Time really flies! I wish it wasn't over, I have enjoyed every single one of your summer outfits, ALL OF Y'ALLS! :P And it's been really nice and excited to have seen your fashion and style journey through it all. The challenges you've conquered, the new looks you've tried out etc. All of you have really rocked it, and I want to thank everyone that's joined for participating with me in this BFSC! Thank you!
So all you fabulous ladies that are participating and just have a one or a couple of challenge outfits left, it is not too late. You can still make the post the remaining time of today, and I will do the regular weekly summary tomorrow. Followed by ALL THE OUTFITS of the participants that completed the BFSC with voting information :D I'm SO EXCITED!
The winner will receive a $50 gift card at their own choice of online store.
(Just make sure I can purchase it through Paypal or international debit card if you want it to be online)
I can't wait to see the finalists and how the readers vote!

So for my final entry to the BFSC I'm checking "Wear something strapless" off the list.
I personally don't like strapless because I feel that I look so broad over the shoulders, I think it's just personal insecurities still lingering that makes me not feel a 100% comfortable being all bare on top lol. :P But I'm getting more and more used to the look, which I like because bare shoulder are hot ;) and during summers this look is perfect for un-wanted strappy tan lines ;)

First time, So easy! She's made a great video tutorial on how to make it happen ;), and it worked great with my hair too, so I highly recommend to check the video out if you want to try it out as well! I better play with my long hair now before it's to late.........*hint hint* Yeah.....CHOP CHOP, soon. ;) You know?...So I'm definitely going to rock this milkmaid look again.
Tube top from HM size L, Leggings from SWAK one size, Shoe lace wedges from G by Guess, Various rings, Earring from JcPenny, Bracelets from HM.

Until next time...

Ps. Real quick this is what's coming up.

1. Tomorrow Weekly Summary
2. Followed by Finalist participants and voting polls.
3. On Saturday we're having our Big Fat Summer Challenge SHOWCASE in NYC. So you'll be seeing those fabulous photos later on, on all our blogs that are taking part in the Showcase. So excited! Stay tuned.
4. Voting will last for a week, and the winner will be announced shortly after that! :D

Brooklyn Brick Wall

So this weekend I had the pleasure to meet up with Kelly from Masquemag.com, we went on a little adventure, going to a Plus size Boutique's 2nd year anniversary in Brooklyn, which was followed by some time in Soho. (Love Soho, such a pretty part of Manhattan) Passed by a Swedish store Tretorn that sells Swedish goodness' shoes, jackets and bags etc. And I reconnected a little with my Swedish roots, they had things written in Swedish on the walls and stuff...and a huge badge on the wall with their logo saying "BORN IN SWEDEN", of course I took a picture standing next to it doing a thumbs up....lol....of course. I had to! :P
I also bought a little "spork" which is a fork/spoon/knife, very inventive. Which I carried around the city in a much too large shopping bag. :) What I really wanted was the bag that said "Born in Sweden" I'll confess. And the staff was super cool, and the girl at the register hooked me up with a bunch of "Born in Sweden" sticker badges. SCORE! :D hahaha!

Anyway, this is what I wore. This oversize jacket is from Forever21 in a size L, and it fits very well. Adore the pop of color and I scored this one on the BOGO sale. SCORE! :D Paired it with this really cute LBD from HM. Oh and for ONCE I'm wearing my glasses, woot woot. Kudos for me :P I always take them of, like a fool LOL I'm like "wait wait *takes off glasses* now you can take the picture :)." omg. So me.

Thanks for reading, and thanks Kelly for the picsies! :)

USA vs SWE

Hi Everyone!
So I've been thinking...Coming to America, there's a lot of things that are different from my home country Sweden. I'm born and raised in Sweden, but I might not look like your typical "Swede" and that is because my mother is from the Philippines, so I'm half/half.

I moved to the U.S. For many reasons, well number one is to be with my Husband! I can't imagine a life without him. But really we could have just lived in Sweden instead, my husband loves, LOVES Sweden, when me on the other hand was like "meeeh". Since I'm born and raised in Sweden, been living in the same house my whole life, in the same town, been at the same job for a long time, getting older and older, I wanted to escape!

I wanted to explore, and experience a new culture and country. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, travel and be set for new challenges. To grow and mature as a young woman.
I'm very happy I took this huge step, I'm so excited to live here and to be with the love of my life.

What is typical Sweden? Above I've made a little collage of what I feel is Sweden to me, there's so many things that I feel represent Sweden but above are a few of them. For example and IKEA chair, Absolut Vodka, A so called "Smörgås bord" (Sandwich "cake") Herring, and Swedish meatballs, very typical Swedish things. :P
When moving here I was so happy to leave Sweden, boring old Sweden :P but now having been away from Sweden for a little while I've grown a new found love and appreciation for my country which I really really love and enjoy.  For once I can feel a bit patriotic, which doesn't hurt every once in a while, I never ever felt that patriotic before, like AT ALL. But it's cool, I can brag about how HM and IKEA is Sweden :P ha-ha! I can't do that in Sweden...I can feel proud of being Swedish. More than ever.

So what I'm trying to get at here is that I'm going to start a little segment called USA vs SWEDEN :P
To give my personal take on everyday and any day difference, from both parts. There's a few things that I wish we had in Sweden that you guys have here. Etc. I think it will be a fun segment to do on a regular basis. I've been thinking about this for a long time, so I'm really excited about getting it started. :D

But first of all I want to ask you all Americans.

What is typical or represents your country in your opinion?

Thanks for following!

Play dress up

How is one of the best ways to cheer you up? For me...Play dress up :P
Well, this dress really makes me feel happy, it one of those dresses that I feel in love with and just had to had and I was lucky enough to get my hands on the dress before they sold out a couple of years back. I need to wear this dress more often, it is so pretty!!
And even though I've gained weight this dress still fits well, and it looks so flattering on even though it has BIG sleeves. This dress really represents the girly/cute side of my style.
So when I saw this dress I just had to put it out and snaps some photos, pairing them with my new heels that I scored for only 10$!!! I need to wear more clothes that I have in my wardrobe ha-ha! This dress is one of them for sure! I should do like a "wear every piece in my wardrobe-challenge".

Hope you all have a great weekend!
XOXO

Colorblocking you know...

So, things are really starting to fall into order...but yet I feel really low right now. I'm going through an emotional rollercoaster sort of. Relationships! That's all I gotta say...you guys get it.
Also, wanting to do all these things that you can't do or don't feel the energy doing, I want to apply for a job, but I can't...I want to apply for my NJ drivers license but I can't...YET! I could study the drivers manual...but I don't have the energy to do it right now, nor work on my resume. Ugh. WHY!? I wish I felt the excitement and drive to do it, but at the moment I feel extremely uninspired and just want to lazy around, I need to shake myself out of this funk!
Have you had one of these days? When you just want to do something but nothing at the same time, it doesn't make sense but you just there "moping" around feeling nothing!

Shopping feels like the only way out of it, ha-ha, but you shouldn't spend any more money on stuff you don't need even though you know it would make you feel better. :P
OMG.
I'm so bad.

Anyway, wore this a couple of days ago, I wanted to mix unusual colors. And voila!
I would usually never wear GREEN with ORANGE together :P These are my very first GAP shorts, and the fit was perfect, however they got so loose after one day of wearing them that...they don't look so good on anymore, ha ha, I need to wet them and have them shrink, other then that love the color!
Felt like matching so I added an orange top to go with my orange color nails and lips, love the crochet collar. So Purdy, just looking at the outfit picture makes me feel a little bit better...

The Perfect LBD

The LBD is an essential in every curvy girls wardrobe. One LBD is not enough :P we need options, even though they are all in the same solid color, the LBD still comes in different cuts, styles and fits. So...why stick to just one LBD?
Lately I've noticed how I lean more towards solid blacks when browsing the net, window shopping, I like the edgy all black look, that you can spice up with nice accessories and shoes. I guess I dig the coolness the black exudes. ;) Pair it with a bright colored lip, oufh! Perfection!

Anyway, Below are 3 Little Black Dress' from 4 different Plus size retailers. My favorites, I want them all! :P from Ashley Stewart, Asos Curve, Fashion to Figure and Forever21 plus size.
*drooling* Bringing the "sexy and sassy" to us full figured girls, love it!

Which ones are your favorite?

Warming up

I'm about to pass out any minute, I'm in a food coma/sun coma! Ha-ha!
I've been out all day today with a group of friend and we went.... DEAP SEA FISHING! :D I'm so not a fishing girl but it was a lot of fun actually and it was a beautiful day to be outside. AND I got to work on my tan :P I caught my first ever baby fluke. Too little to keep so we threw it back in the water, but my friend caught a HUGE one and actually won the competition of catching the biggest fish on the boat and won a significant amount of money!
And with that we all went out for dinner, SO NICE!
Korean food, love it, it's like being on a food journey, the dining experience is totally different from what I'm used to, and there's food on the plates that I've never seen or tasted before, and I love that, and the food is really good too!! We went to a Sushi and Sashimi restaurant.
And now I'm home, super tired, I know I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight...so I'm really looking forward to passing out LOL.

So I just wanted to post a "warming up" outfit post, At the Big Fat Summer Challenge Showcase hosted by me and Peggy from on the Q train the 4th of August. I'm going to wear the two piece bikini! Eep! On the Brooklyn Bridge. *Help!*
It's a bit intimidating the thought of being half naked on the bridge, on the beach everyone is half naked so that's cool :P But on the Brooklyn Bridge it feels like I'm out of my element.
So I've decided to pair my bikini top with a sheer skirt, like this one for example. I love the tulip skirt style, so pretty!

What do you guys think?

Me wants some wedge sneakers!

So I came across these on BAKERS website, and so far these are the cheapest wedge sneakers I've found. (Not that I have looked around A LOT) I know Steve Madded sell them as well, but they are like more then a 100$, and I think the original ORIGINAL ones are like expensive EXPENSIVE! And you know me, I'm a bargain shopper. So these wedges are 69$, now, is it worth it? Have you seen cheaper but still nice ones out there?

I really really dig the zipper detail on the side, so edgy I LOVE IT! As well as the studded piece on the front on the other sneakers. Decisions...Decisions...Omg, I'm dying. I feel so cheap, and I'm holding off for that very reason...will they be on SALE in a couple of months?
Who knows...lets discuss this! :P lol.

YAY or NAY?

(Lol, I think I'll continue this "YAY or NAY?" segment more often. I like it.)
